Principal's Corner

January 27, 2021

Dear Clinton School Parents & Guardians:

The Plainfield Public Schools is committed to the safety and welfare of all our students and staff. Due to the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19, we have made the following adjustments to our District Pandemic Plan. The District will move to Phase 3 Virtual Half-Days beginning Monday, February 1, 2021.

Student Cohorts A-B-C will continue to work virtually. This means students will virtually log into Schoology every day from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM to attend classes per the Elementary half-day sessions. In the afternoon, following the student lunch period, teachers will allocate a minimum of 1.5 hours for interventions with select students. Interventions will be based on student need and can range from asynchronous enrichment activities to individual and small group remediation sessions.

During our Phase 3 period, we will continue to utilize the Schoology platform, which allows the entire district to remain unified under one instructional umbrella for all subjects. We will continue to provide daily grab and go lunch and breakfast for students. Your child’s teacher will provide you with more information regarding the afternoon intervention sessions and your child’s exact schedule.

With the ongoing concerns about COVID-19 (the Coronavirus), we want you to know that the safety and health of our students is our top priority. The District will continue to assess COVID data on a monthly basis through to the end of the school year. Thank you in advance for your patience and support, as we get ready to launch our Phase 3 Virtual Half Day academic experience. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the school.

Let us continue to remain healthy, proactive and most importantly prayerful.

With you for Children,

Dr. Janet R. Grooms,
