Principal's Corner

August 25, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians:

On behalf of myself and the “Champion” staff at Clinton School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! In the face of our “new normal” our school district has been hard at work preparing our “Road Forward Plan”. The plan will provide safety guidelines for in person instruction and school district operations. Following, what could easily be characterized as the most unusual year in the history of education, I’m elated to resume in-person, full day, teaching and learning for all students.

All staff and students will be required to wear masks during the instructional day. Students are expected to report for the “first day of school” on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 8:00 AM. The daily dismissal time for students will be at 2:35 PM. The students will enter thru the playground or parking lot entrances and report straight to their classroom teacher for breakfast, attendance, and morning announcements.

As we return to in person learning, we would like to promote school pride by wearing uniforms. The uniform dress code consists of white/blue shirts and khaki/navy blue bottoms. The student supply list is located on the district website so please review to ensure that our scholars are adequately prepared for instruction.

If you would like for your child to attend the Plainfield Community Outreach After-School Program on site, please go to www.pconj.org for an application. The after school program will be held at Clinton School daily from 2:35 PM – 5:30 PM.

SAVE THE DATE for the following:

· Kindergarten Orientation – September 2, 2021 at 4:00 PM

· Back to School Night – September 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM

You will have the opportunity to visit your child’s teacher for a classroom overview of school academics and procedures. Please make every effort to attend.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our scholars can achieve their highest potential. We look forward to serving the parents, district, community and our most valuable assets, the children.

With You for Children,

Dr. Janet R. Grooms,
Principal
