Principal's Corner

August 26, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians:

On behalf of myself and the “Champion” staff at Clinton School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! I’m elated to resume in-person, full day, teaching and learning for all students. As we learn to safely live with COVID, our school district is hard at work preparing to receive our students in the healthiest environment possible. For the reopening of school, we would like to promote school pride by wearing uniforms daily. The uniform dress code consists of white/blue shirts and khaki/navy blue bottoms.

Students are expected to report for the “first day of school” on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 8:00 AM. The daily dismissal time for students will be at 2:35 PM. The students will enter thru the playground or parking lot entrances and report straight to their classroom teacher who will escort them to class for attendance, and morning announcements.

If you would like for your child to attend the Plainfield Community Outreach After-School Program on site, please go to www.pconj.org for an application. The after school program will be held at Clinton School daily from 2:35 PM – 5:30 PM.

SAVE THE DATE for the following:

· Kindergarten Orientation – September 6, 2022 at 5:30 PM

· Back to School Night – September 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM

You will have the opportunity to visit your child’s teacher for a classroom overview of school academics and procedures. Please make every effort to attend.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our scholars can achieve their highest potential. We look forward to serving the parents, district, community and our most valuable assets, the children.

With You for Children,

Dr. Janet R. Grooms
Principal
